Most of the roofs around Luton and Dunstable are concrete tile on timber trusses, and most of the trouble starts the same way: a handful of slipped or cracked tiles, or mortar that has given up on the ridge. Caught early that's a morning's work. Left through a winter it becomes wet timbers, stained ceilings and a much bigger bill.

For a full re-roof we strip back, check and replace any rotten timbers, fit breathable membrane and new battens, and re-lay in your choice of tile or natural slate. Ridges and hips are bedded and mechanically fixed to current standards. Scaffolding, skip and building control notification are all handled by us — you get one price covering everything.

Flat roofs on extensions, garages and dormers we do in torch-on felt or GRP fibreglass, both with proper falls and edge trims so water actually leaves the roof. And while the scaffold is up, fascias, soffits and guttering are far cheaper to replace than as a separate visit — worth doing in one go.

About roofing

How long does a re-roof take?

A standard three-bedroom semi is usually four to five working days including scaffolding, weather permitting. We give you a start date and a finish date in writing before we begin.

Do I need building regulations approval for a new roof?

If more than a quarter of the roof covering is being replaced, yes — it needs a building notice. We handle that as part of the job, and you get the completion certificate at the end.

Can you just fix the leak rather than replace the roof?

Usually, and we'll tell you honestly which it is. If a repair will genuinely see you through several more years we'll quote for the repair. We don't sell roofs to people who need a morning's work.
